New Artwork
Figurative and Abstract Nudes
My recent acrylic and mixed media paintings are big and powerful, but several are also quite playful. They are each developed from digital paintings of female nudes. The original images were transformed with varying degrees of distortion into colorful blends of abstract and figurative elements.
Digital Womandalas
One or more digital figure sketches are combined, flipped and mirrored in order to create a pattern with radial symmetry. They often resemble a decorative mandala, but because they use female forms I call them "Womandalas."
Printed on 12x18" archival art paper: unframed $75,
in 16x20" white frame, $175
Portraits: Gurls with Curls
A series of 30 x 24" portaits of women with extremely curly hair.
I will do a mixed media portrait of you, whether or not you have curly hair.
Small Acrylic Figure Paintings
A series of small paintings (8x8 to 12x10 inches) of my favorite models, in acrylic and mixed media on canvas or panels.
Each was inspired by a digital gesture drawing. The mixed media paintings began with a print of the drawing on thin Japanese Kozo-shi paper, applied to the canvas or panel with gel medium. I painted acrylics over the collage in layers. Several paintings also include Prismacolor pencil in the last stage.
